Barbados, the most eastern island in the Caribbean, is located between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, northeast of Venezuela. The island remained under British rule from its first settlement in 1627 to its Independence in 1966. With a population of approximately 240,000 inhabitants, the capital of Barbados is Bridgetown and the official language is English. In Barbados there are historical sights to see, excellent shopping, superior dining, outrageous night-clubbing or just rest and enjoy the beauty of the coral sand beaches. Of course there is life beyond Villa Paradise. Short walks, less than five minutes each, take you to a golf course and the Sandy Lane Hotel. Here you can relax on a private beach and enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. Attendants at the owners' facilities will carry your sun chairs and chaise lounges to and from your favorite spot on the beach. There's an indoor air-conditioned racquet ball court, a traditionally-styled billiards room, a fitness center, terrazzo ping-pong table, shuffle board and basketball, volley ball and badminton courts. The Main House, ground level, includes Kitchen, dining room, billiard room, huge master bedroom with sitting area, large en-suite bathroom (bath and shower) and french doors opening onto garden. Pool-side bedroom, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. A third bedroom suite on the ground floor contains an en suite bathroom, large sitting room, private kitchen and verandah. The second level in the Main House includes two bedrooms with ensuite baths. The Guest Villa has two very large bedrooms each with sitting room and en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and a large open-air living room with kitchenette. The Nest has a second floor bedroom with hanging bed and ensuite bathroom with sunken bath.
