Villa Hermosa

Villa Hermosa is an exclusive and vast private territory which spreads along 1,200 hectares (about 3 thousand acres) within the Henares river valley, in the heartland of Spain, in the surroundings of the medieval city of Sigüenza, which is located in the Castilla La Mancha region.
Villa Hermosa is a historic natural reserve, which already appears quoted in XIV century´s inventory of royal places to hunt (Libro de la Montería de Alfonso XI). The main villa was built in Art Nouveau style at the end of the XIX century by the Duke of Pastrana. At that time, a private railway station was also opened by the National railroad company inside of the estate, near the villa. This station enabled important people from the Madrid political scene to visit the place in comfort. Even Queen Regent María Cristina of Habsburgo and King Alfonso XIII visited Villa Hermosa several times and enjoyed the private and secluded territory and its mineral waters. These waters are currently being bottled as natural mineral water in the Estate itself, under the brand “Font Vella Sigüenza”, which is the market leader in Spain. You will enjoy this fresh water on the property!

The main villa at Villa Hermosa has three floors and a cellar in the basement.
On the ground floor, there is a deck, an entrance hall, a dining room with two fireplaces, a meeting room with a seating area by the fireplace, two powder rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious patio with marble floors. The patio has two additional powder rooms and a traditional wood oven. There are also three extra 12 m2 bedrooms with en-suite full bathrooms with shower that can each be accessed individually from the exterior of the house.
On the first floor, there are six 30 m2 bedrooms with en-suite full bathrooms with tub.
On the second floor, there are two additional bedrooms with en-suite full bathrooms with tubs plus a 60 m2 suite with two full bathrooms, one with tub and the other with shower.In that 60 m2 suite, there is a Queen bed and two double sofa beds.
All the furniture and décor belong to the style of the time when the villa was built. There are pine and juniper wood floors in most of the house, with the exception of the marble floors in the dining room, in two of the bedrooms, and in all the bathrooms and washrooms.
Surrounding the house, there are approximately 500 m2 of lawn plus an additional 3.000 m2 of gardens and promenades. The parking space has capacity for approximately 100 cars.
Apart from the main villa, on the Estate there are other ancient constructions that were built in different styles according to the times. Among them, there is a XVI century hermitage, a XIX century chapel. Finally there is a large stone and wood building which is used to organize large meetings and celebrations like weddings. There are many activities to be enjoyed at Villa Hermosa such as horseback riding, trekking, quads, jogging, etc. For very special clients with accredited equestrian experience, advanced horseback riding with the owners very own thoroughbred pure Arabian horses can be arranged for. And for hunting enthusiasts, selective hunting (wild boar and deer) can be organized.
One of the most popular activities that can be organized, is cooking classes with the owner who is a Cordon Bleu graduate! Programs of 1 to 3 days with visits to the very famous fresh produce markets in Madrid are all possible!
