Villa Brienno

Ville Brienno is a former silk spinning mill dating back to the 17th century. It is situated on the lake shore in the historical center of Brienno, a small village 17 km north of Como. Offering compelling views, the villa has been beautifully and thoughtfully refurbished and now offers guests all modern conveniences with a dash of industrial chic. Relics of the villa's industrial heritage still exist and blend seamlessly with elements of its rebirth. Brick tiles and the old chimney remind of its past, while the stylish art-filled creative interiors encourage guests to unwind and feel perfectly at home.

Villa Brienno's location lakeside delivers spectacular views and private lake access. Vaulted ceilings and a succession of floor-to-ceiling windows take full advantage of this feature, inviting guests to embrace the outdoors. The villa sleeps up to 10 guests in four double bedrooms and four bathrooms.

There is a new swimming pool (6,75x3,45 mt, depth 1,40mt) directly facing the lake.


Large Groups can be accommodated in the free-standing building located behind the main villa: the Pier. It can accommodate up to 36 people in nine units, each with separate access.

The large open space located over the villa is available on request for guests only. The loft provides the ideal space for events such as weddings, large celebrations, corporate team building, or conferences. It has its own access from the pedestrian road behind, and sometimes it is used for practicing yoga.

Additional features of this 400 sqm villa include air conditioning throughout, a large garden with outdoor furnishings and Jacuzzi tub, a furnished terrace, Wi-Fi, Satellite TV, elevator, and a breakfast basket upon arrival. At road level there are two covered parking spaces (not suitable for vans). The villa sits on the lake shore (2 levels under the road) and can be accessed by stairs or elevator.


Ground Floor: Entrance to the villa via the covered front porch leading to the garden, garden with outdoor furnishing, Jacuzzi for five people and imposing iron sculpture, a spacious living room with French doors opening towards the garden, a second living room with two sofas and design steel stair leading to the lounge area, and a fully-equipped kitchen opening towards the porch.

A few steps down is the dining room with a table seating up to 16 guests.

Upper floor: Three double bedrooms with three bathrooms, and a master suite with ensuite bathroom, dressing area with wooden tub, and a sofa bed.


Brienno is a fascinating small village, with just 400 inhabitants. Dating back before 1000 AD, the village remains virtually unchanged over time with its ancient streets, flowered balconies and narrow stairways. Located on the west coast of the lake, Brienno is 17 km from Como, less than 60 km from Milan and Malpensa Airport, 30 km from Lugano, 3 km from Laglio, and 25 km from the Casino of Campione d’Italia. Within walking distance are a Pizzeria and the ferry jetty.
