Located in rich, agricultural countryside above the unspoiled valley of the Ombrone river, Villa Arbia commands an unrestricted pastoral view of nearby vineyards, distant farmhouses and various castles that line the horizon. Buonconvento, (the nearest town at four kilometers on a paved road) provides for all convenience needs. Siena is 29 kilometers to the north up the Cassia, the old consular Roman road. rnrnThe villa, (constructed in 2005) was designed and built by its Anglo-Italian architects/owners as a contemporary version of a classical Tuscan villa. Using traditional materials in a more up-to-date approach to layout and detailing, the villa appeals to old-world aesthetics but offers all modern conveniences. The old, new and ethnic furniture and paintings are an integral and modest part of the family heritage.rnrnIncluded in the rental price: water, gas, electricity, linen changed weekly, the use of the swimming-pool (open May - October), use of the laundry (soap not provided), high chair rnrnAvailable at additional cost and upon request: Chef service, extra maid service, firewood, baby cot, pets allowedrnrnPlease note, final cleaning charges will be included in the price if the house is left tidy at the time of departure, otherwise there will be a charge of 200 euro.rnrnrn

Villa Arbia is set back from the main road and greets you with an entrance courtyard and a parking area. The two lower buildings flanking the courtyard consist of a guest annex on one side and a garage and utility room on the other side (with separate service entrance to the kitchen). Entrance on the ground floor gives you access to the living areas, including the living room with sofa and chairs, dining room seating 10 guests, a fully equipped kitchen (fridge/freezer, stove, oven, wood oven, microwave, dishwasher, breakfast table for eight, pantry), study/office, and access out onto the terrace and pool area. Upstairs are four double bedrooms, each decorated in schemes of red, amber and green hues and each equipped with an en suite bathroom (one with Jacuzzi tub). The fifth bedroom can be found in the guest suite located in the annex. The villa offers central air conditioning throughout. A paved and pergola-protected area for deckchairs and tables is set in the lawn, which divides the house from the pool. Outside offers plenty of room to run around or just lounge by the pool. rn

How great can a stay be with such a terrific view? Every evening we enjoyed the view of Montalcino by night while drinking a local red wine and dreaming of the following day.
