Lucca Estate - Villa Pera

Villa Pera, an elegant 19th century luxury villa rental in Lucca with its own chapel, olive oil press and castle ruins, is set in a vast estate of terraced olive groves and a ranch-style equestrian centre. The villa was originally built as a summer residence for a family from Lucca who used the fertile estate for the cultivation of rare flowers. In the 1800s it became home to Felice Matteucci who invented the first stroke engine in 1854. Villa Pera has always been, and continues to be, a much loved home. Beyond the camelia garden with its curious fountain lies the swimming pool surrounded by lawns, fragrant lavender and terracotta pots of lemon trees. There's an outdoor barbecue area next to the Loggia and a shaded petanque court (a European ball game). All rooms of the villa are elegantly furnished, from the angel frescoed ceiling of the lounge and the grand music room to the arched Loggia with views across the garden. On the first floor all bedroom windows frame panoramic views across Lucca and the surrounding countryside.

Included is a cleaning service twice a week (Saturday and Wednesday) as well as a property/estate manager who will meet guests on arrival to help them get settled in and will be available for urgent help or assistance.

Extra services include chef, cooking lessons, wine-tastings, additional/daily maid service, transfers, chauffeurs and guided tours, itinerary planning and a concierge service.


Outdoor facilities include a flood-lit swimming pool with shower facilities, mountain bikes, barbecue area, table tennis, equestrian centre, olive oil press, petanque court, chapel (available for weddings and blessings), and a vast olive grove and nearby forest for woodland walks. Tennis facilities and golf driving range are 5 minutes away. A marvelous golf course is a 30 minute drive. This magnificent villa is available all year round.

The ground floor consists of a main entrance and hall with staircase, fully equipped kitchen, lounge with fireplace, dining room, and an arched loggia with table and chairs for al fresco dining, card room and library, music room with CD system, TV lounge with TV and video, 2 toilets, office with telephone, fax, internet access and computer facilities, wine cellar. On bedroom with ensuite bath is on the ground floor.
On the second floor are the six bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.
On the third floor there is an additional 4 bedrooms with ensuite bath.

Daily Chef service for preparation of breakfast and one meal (lunch or dinner) 6 days a week (Wednesday day off).

Daily maid service, 3 hours in the morning, 6 days a week (Sunday day off).
